Carbon negative food and body products

The wealth of wisdom of Asian traditions has brought on the market several products that without doubt are intrinsically carbon negative, utilizing highly selected charcoal powder to create healthy detoxifying food and body products, like this hemp charcoal salt mix, a charcoal powder tooth paste and a charcoal soap.

Carbon negative certification

For further events and developments, the CO2Offset Bank is proudly announcing to start soon printing Carbon negative certification to attach to goods or services: these badges testify the registered deposit of the biochar produced during the production of such goods or services. For example, they are going to be printed and attached to hot drinks or food cooked on top of a biochar-making stove, stating the deposit code of that biochar in the CO2OB database.

The customers who care they are going to know how much CO2 they have contribute to sequester buying their goods or services.

Deposit 2013-jp002

This is the certificate documenting a workshop and biochar deposit happened during Yamauto matsuri 2013, not far from Kyoto in Japan. The workshop was held on the side of a conventional bamboo charcoal making workshop: many people stopped by, checked the stove and the whole process of pyrolisys.

The first deposit in Japan: 2013-JP001

The CO2OB has been active this summer 2013 in various locations in Japan, organizing free demonstrations and displays of a biochar production using an Elsa stove replica, during a few selected summer festivals.

This biochar was produced during Chiisana Inochino matsuri, in the festival's camping, while many people stopped by noticing that something different was going on.

Welcome everybody!
This is the first post and opening of the Carbon dioxide offset bank (in short the CO2Offset Bank or CO2OB).  This web space it's organized like a regular blog but structured like a database, listing every "deposit" made in the bank... meaning every documented production of charcoal (biochar) donated to the soil. In this way each donor acquires 1 virtual deposit credit of the CO2OB for every 273 grams of charcoal.
This is the amount of carbon equivalent to 1 kg of CO2, since the carbon is about the 27.3% of the CO2 molecule as stated in the following chart.
Eventually when the leverage of all the carbon negative initiatives will be strong enough, this kind of deposit will be fully recognized and granted the equivalent carbon credits from the international community. Grants and cash credits will be devolved to vocational training programs and reforestation projects, managed by CO2OB.
There is only one way: be the change that we want to see in the World!
