Today all the biochar collected during tests and workshops held in Japan during the last month was weighted and deposited. It's the biggest deposit so far, consisting of three batches of 352, 159 and 377 grams for a total of 888 grams.
Follows a short sequence of pictures of the event.

Weighting the biochar on a precision scale.
Urban community garden: in the last years, this plot has been farmed using only natural methods and "home made" compost. The following sequence shows how the deposit was done.
All the native plants on the plot are cut down along the surface of the soil and set on the side, keeping the roots in the ground. The area is about 50 cm wide and 200 cm long so equivalent to 1 square meter: we are trying to get close to the ratio of 1 kg of biochar x 1 square meter.
Measuring the area
The biochar is laid on the soil
The weeds that had been previously cut and set aside are used to cover the whole area with a thick layer of mulch. Later on fresh compost will be added on the same spot.
